Summary:
Farecast, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join its team in Seattle, WA. As a Senior Systems Engineer you would be responsible for production, development, and corporate environments. You would provide 24x7 production support and management of systems, platforms, and processes; and you would support the development and office staff for issues with systems running Linux, Mac OS X, or Windows. You would be assisting in the management of our NOC operations, using tools to proactively monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues.

As part of our operations team you would be involved with designing, building and deploying new systems and infrastructure components. As part of this effort, you will research and investigate new technologies to help fuel our growth.

Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

• Systems administration experience in real world production environments with Unix/Linux (minimum 7 years)
• Experience with Tomcat or Jboss, Apache and MySQL on Linux (minimum 5 years)
• Experience with VPN/Firewall/Network design, implementation and support
• Strong understanding of IP-based communications and systems monitoring
• Experience with load balancing/clustering of web and database servers
• Must have strong troubleshooting skills, be very detail oriented, and utilize the ability to multi-task
• Ability to program in one or more of the following: C/C++, SQL, PHP, Perl, shell scripting and/or Java

• Design, write, execute and maintain automated and non-automated test scripts
